The Industry We Want and Initiative for Global Solidarity* are convening an exclusive event to bring together key stakeholders from across the garment and footwear sector for an inclusive conversation on responsible purchasing practices. This session aims to deepen understanding of the interconnected impact of purchasing practices for improvements in environmental and social issues in working conditions.
We are inviting key decision-makers and experts in the industry to join us on the 9th of September in Munich, before the Cascale member meeting commences. This exclusive event will provide an opportunity to hear and share insights with policymakers, brands, retailers, manufacturers, and production country voices about responsible purchasing practices and their impact on the garment and footwear sector.
This event represents a critical moment for the garment sector to reflect on what is and what isn’t working for positive change systematically. By fostering equitable sourcing dialogues and embracing responsible purchasing practices, we can stimulate significant improvements in social and environmental standards.
*Initiative for Global Solidarity (IGS) is implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development. The IGS promotes human rights and environmental due diligence in global supply chains by enabling buyers and manufacturers to live up to their joint responsibility.
